I learned about 15 years ago (that means I was married already for 20 years) when Pam and I were not doing as well as we should be, I didn't feel like I was getting enough out of our relationship. It started to be "hey, if you loved me, I should be getting more from you" (sort of stuff, you know?) Then God spoke. He told me "Love isn't about getting, it's about GIVING. Love is a VERB. Love is showing. Love is doing. Relationships are HARD WORK. Things have been so fantastic with us since then. It might be even harder to build a relationship with God because the "returns" take a different form. To love Jesus is to love others, to be a servant, to share Jesus in all you do. Sometimes you don't want to. You want to ignore someone or just put your head down and walk by. You need to remember, it is NOT ABOUT YOU! no emotions, no goodies, and as you said "no heaven" Love you Chris!!! I so agree but there is a difficultly.
